Job description

Bomberbot is an educational game that teaches children the basics of programming. We support teachers with little to no technical background to teach about technology and prepare their students for the digital age. The game is hosted on an educational platform where teachers can manage their classes and view their students' progress. We are looking for a software developer to join our development team and further build on the product. 

We are a small and young team with a passion for changing education. Bomberbot empowers teachers to bring programming education to their pupils. Bomberbot offers online lesson plans for teachers, a game for pupils to practise the programming concepts with a focus on making programming easy and fun. We have reached over 70,000 children in 2016 and 8 out of 10 teachers are actively recommending Bomberbot to their colleagues.

Requirements

Role:

  • Adding new features to the game based on user feedback
  • Managing and further developing the educational platform
  • Profiling the platform and game and solve bottlenecks
  • Manage the server and database
  • Continuously improve security

Experience:

  • You are experienced with NodeJS and the MEAN Stack
  • Experience with HTML5 and CSS3
  • You are comfortable working with a variety of web technologies
  • You can work autonomously on projects

Nice to have:

  • Experience in game design/development
  • Experience with educational tools
